NAKUSP FAMILY SUPPORT AND YOUTH SERVICES PROGRAM

WHAT IS THE NAKUSP FAMILY SUPPORT AND YOUTH SERVICES PROGRAM?

THE YOUTH OUTREACH SERVICES PROGRAM PROVIDES CASE MANAGEMENT/SERVICE COORDINATION AND SUPPORT SERVICES TO: SUPPORT HIGH-RISK YOUTH TO AVOID FAMILY BREAKDOWN AND TO ENCOURAGE POSITIVE FAMILY RELATIONSHIPS; AND/OR DEVELOP AGE-APPROPRIATE DAILY LIVING SKILLS; AND/OR SUPPORT HOMELESS YOUTH OR YOUTH-IN0CASE TO ADDRESS PERSONAL BARRIER TO BECOMING INDEPENDENT.

How to access this service?

Referrals come directly from the Ministry of Children and Family Development. Referrals from community services and self-referrals are also welcomed; however MCFD referrals have priority for services.

HOW LONG DOES THE NAKUSP FAMILY SUPPORT AND YOUTH SERVICES PROGRAM WORK WITH FAMILIES?

Duration and frequency of service depends on the individual needs and goals of each child, youth or family, and the input of the referring social worker, if applicable.

This program is available to children, youth and their families in the Nakusp community and their service delivery region.
