Parent Coaching/Support Group Services

Parents with younger children’s groups may focus on learning play, attachment parenting, nutrition, sleep and reading programs, with education on milestones and monitoring developmental lags. Parents of older youth may have groups on limit setting, developmental versus chronological age considerations for reasonable expectations, social emotional learning, executive functioning supports, and positive parenting. All groups will have an emphasis on parent and caregiver health, self-care, and connection in a welcoming, relaxed, and social atmosphere. Referrals and partnerships with other parent groups in the community will be considered to not duplicate services. Standardized modules of educational content that will be commonly needed and could be delivered by various staff. There is also the option of delivering parent-group services through one of the NoC locations, to increase accessibility for parents near those locations. ARC and our partners will utilize the varied skills and expertise of the multi-disciplinary team to design and efficiently deliver specialized skills building and support services that meet the needs of the families accessing the Family Connection Centre.
