Community Support Worker, Penticton

ARC Programs is accepting applications for the position of Community Support Worker, providing services to young adults working primarily out of our Penticton Office, but also out of Kelowna Office. The Community Support Worker will work with young adults {19 and up} who have limitations in adaptive functioning and either a diagnosis of FASD, or Autism Spectrum Disorder {ASD}. The Community Support Worker will provide individualized behavior intervention, consultation, education, counseling and support services for referred adults. The Community Support Worker will work directly with the family {caregivers} where applicable, to strengthen the family unit and provide support. The Community Support Worker will work to develop social skills, communication skills, life skills, and peer relationships through individual services and group-based services. Ideally, applicants will have experience working with adults with complex developmental behavioural conditions, including Autism Spectrum Disorder, and FASD. The worker will be expected to provide outreach services, working independently in the home or community.

Applicants for this position should be prepared to work flexible hours and weekends as needed. The qualifications of this position include HSW Diploma, or related Community Support Worker Certificate, and related experience. Applicants with a degree {BSW, BA, CYC Degree}, are also encouraged to apply.
