Hours / Schedule >

Full-Time / Permanent

This is a unique opportunity which involves providing support to an individual who lives in the applicant’s home.
Home Sharing schedules and responsibilities can vary, depending on the unique needs of the individual.

Responsibilities >

Most arrangements involve an individual and a Home Sharing Caregiver sharing a house, or apartment, which can be owned or rented. For some Home Share situations people live together as roommates, while some involve a whole family supporting an individual, with one family member being the primary Home Sharing Caregiver.

The role of the Home Share Caregiver is to provide safe care and support for the person you have invited into your life, in an accepting, inclusive environment.

Support is flexible and evolves according to the individual’s changing needs. For some individuals, home sharing is a stepping-stone to more independence, for others it is an arrangement that lasts for years.

Home Share Caregivers are responsible for the safety, health and the well-being of the individual, as well as supporting opportunities for personal and social development within the household, with the individual’s family, and in the broader community.

Wage >

Compensation varies based on the individual’s needs.

Typically, wages are between $2000.00 - $3000.00 / month based on the level of support required.

Home Share providers receive support from the Host Agency (ARC Programs), and the individual in the home may receive support from a one-to-one worker for a set number of hours each week.
