WHAT ARE THE SFCN SERVICES?

THE SFCN SERVICES ARE BASED IN THE ARC PROGRAMS CASTLEGAR OFFICE AND ARE PROVIDED TO FOSTER PARENTS, AND PROSPECTIVE FOSTER PARENTS, ACROSS THE WEST KOOTENAY AND BOUNDARY COMMUNITIES THROUGH A VARIETY OF OUTREACH APPROACHES. 

THE FOCUS IS TO HELP THE FOSTER PARENTS INCREASE THEIR:

Support Services For Families with FASD

WHAT IS THE SUPPORT SERVICES FOR FAMILIES (WITH FASD OR SIMILAR NEURO-DEVELOPMENTAL CONDITIONS) PROGRAM?

THE SUPPORT SERVICES FOR FAMILIES PROGRAM IS A COMMUNITY BASED OUTREACH SERVICE DESIGNED TO ENHANCE PROTECTIVE FACTORS AND REDUCE RISK FACTORS FOR A YOUNG PERSON WITH FASD AND BUILD THE CAPACITY OF THEIR FAMILIES TO PROVIDE ONGOING NURTURING CARE FOR THEIR CHILDREN.

THE SUPPORT SERVICES FOR FAMILIES OPERATES USING A CAREGIVER-DRIVEN APPROACH THAT FOCUSES ON THE FAMILY’S INDIVIDUAL NEEDS.

WHAT IS THE NAKUSP FAMILY SUPPORT AND YOUTH SERVICES PROGRAM?

THE NAKUSP FAMILY SUPPORT AND YOUTH SERVICES PROGRAM PROVIDES AN ARRAY OF PROGRAM COMPONENTS. THE FOLLOWING CORE SERVICES ARE INTEGRATED COMPONENTS OF THE FAMILY SUPPORT AND YOUTH SERVICES PROGRAM:

FAMILY ADVANCEMENT SERVICES: A SHORT TERM, INTENSIVE, OUTCOME-FOCUSED ASSISTANCE TO FAMILIES EXPERIENCING SIGNIFICANT DIFFICULTIES WITH PARENT-CHILD OR PARENT-ADOLESCENT DIFFICULTIES.
