Central Okanagan Service

Elementary School Based Mental Health

Program Overview

The Elementary School Based Mental Health program serves children experiencing challenges with social, emotional, and mental functioning often associated with low or unstable mood and/or anxiety.

The program works closely with the parents and caregivers, members of the school-based team and other involved community supports and resources connected to referred children. Services focus on assessment, counselling and consultation for students who require support to gain a better understanding of their mental health concerns and to develop the skills and resilience to experience wellness in the school setting.

How to Refer

All referrals are generated through school-based teams and come directly from the elementary school counsellors working in School District 23.
