SOAR-Wrap provides a comprehensive outreach service to minimize placement disruption by enhancing healthy relationship between caregivers and their children

SOAR-Wrap provides a comprehensive outreach service to minimize placement disruption by enhancing healthy relationship between caregivers and their children.

Goals:
Increase the resiliency and capacity of caregivers to meet the child or youth’s needs, while decreasing factors that may undermine placement stability.

Eligibility

  • Families with children and youth 0-18
  • In care, or in an out-of-care arrangement with the 
    Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD) 

Restricted Access

  • Must be referred by the Ministry for Children and Family 
    Development (MCFD) in Penticton 
Early Years Middle Years Youth

Supervised Access provides supervision and oversight of mandated supervised visits as part of a child’s care plan

Supervised Access provides supervision and oversight of mandated supervised visits as part of a child’s care plan.

Goals:
Reduce the effects of trauma on the child by facilitating healthy connections between family members during supervised visits.

Eligibility

  • Families and caregivers of children and youth in care, including out-of-care arrangements with the Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD)
  • With an active protection order in place

Restricted Access

  • Must be referred by the Ministry of Children and Family 
    Development (MCFD) team in Penticton

Supported Connections provides practical parenting support and education

Goals:
Address barriers to reunification and to maintain significant relationships in the child’s life.

Eligibility

  • Children and youth 0-18 in care, including out-of-care 
    arrangements with the Ministry for Children and Family 
    Development (MCFD). 

Restricted Access

  • Must be referred by the Ministry for Children and Family 
    Development (MCFD) team in Penticton

Build skills to replace challenging behaviours and improve functioning across a variety of social contexts.

  • Must be referred by the South Okanagan Ministry of Children and Family Development – Children and Youth with Support Needs Team in Penticton .

Goals:

Increase community inclusion, social relationships and daily living skills as well as support for transitions to school and adult services.

  • Must be referred by the South Okanagan Ministry of Children and Family Development – Children and Youth with Support Needs Team in Penticton.

Goals:
Improve emotional stability, build parenting capacity and increase natural and community support systems.

Eligibility

  • Families with children and youth 7-18
  • Having trouble with their child or youth’s mental health

Restricted Access

  • Must be referred by the Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD) Child and Youth Mental Health team in Penticton & Oliver. 
Youth

PenRAP provides flexible, individualized counselling, case management services and probation order monitoring in collaboration with the Youth Probation team

Goals:

Increase healthy social functioning and to reduce or eliminate future involvement in the criminal justice system.

  • Youth 12-18
  • On a youth probation order

PSI provides individualized outreach support services for adults

PSI provides individualized outreach support services for adults.

Goals:
Increase quality of life in the areas of shared living, community inclusion, employment skills and life skills development.

Eligibility

  • Adults with significant limitations in adaptive functioning AND
  • a Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) diagnosis and/or an autism spectrum disorder diagnosis 
  • OR Intellectual Disability Diagnosis

L.I.F.E. provides individualized support learning Inclusion, Friendships and Employment

Goals:
Increase independence and autonomy with an emphasis on increasing vocational skills.

Eligibility

  • Adults with significant limitations in adaptive functioning AND
  • a Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) diagnosis and/or an autism spectrum disorder diagnosis
  • OR an Intellectual Developmental Disability

    Columbia (CLBC) in Penticton
