The Central Okanagan Family Connection Centre (FCC) is here to offer families the support, guidance, and resources necessary for the child’s developmental journey. Whether you’re looking for early intervention, educational workshops, or more specialized care, the FCC provides a wide range of services designed to enhance your family’s quality of life. The best part? No diagnosis is required to access the FCC.

What is the Central Okanagan Family Connection Centre (FCC)?

The FCC offers developmental and goal focused services that can be individualized or group-based. Covering from prevention, treatment to support, FCC services are tailored to families with children and youth aged 0-18. These services are designed to help children with developmental support needs, neurodiversity, or disabilities. Through a comprehensive range of therapies and services, the FCC helps families navigate challenges while promoting the inclusion and independence of their children.

The FCC’s approach is family-centered, recognizing that each child has unique needs. The goal is to work with you to develop customized plans to support your child’s development while ensuring that your family has the tools and resources necessary to succeed.

Because each family is supported by a designated care coordinator, centre model simplifies access to services for children and youth with support needs by offering a wide array of supports at “one-stop” centres. Depending on the specific needs of each family, the delivering of the services can happen in-person, virtual sessions, home visits, and outreach. FCC may also establish satellite services for families living farther away, bridging support for those in need with professionals nearby their locations.

How to access services at the FCC

Once you decide to reach out to the FCC, the intake process is designed to be as straightforward as possible to ensure you get the support you need.

1. The first step is to submit a service request online via this link.

2. After your service request is submitted, an intake worker will contact you to schedule an initial orientation.

3. During the initial orientation, you will be asked questions information about your child’s needs, discussing goals, and creating a plan for the services that will best support your family.

4. Your intake worker will then become your primary care coordinator, helping you navigate the various services offered at the FCC and connecting you with community resources.
