  • Children and youth 0-18 and their families and caregivers
  • With support needs

Restricted Access

  • Must be referred by the Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD) Children and Youth with Support Needs team in Trail, Castlegar & Grand Forks.

Goals: Build the capacity of parents, caregivers and communities to meet the unique needs of their children, and to reduce risk factors associated with FASD

Eligibility

  • Caregivers of children and youth 0-18  
  • With FASD or a similar neurodevelopmental condition

  • Voluntary

Support to Family Care Network provides support, facilitation and training services for family care homes.

Goals:
Develop the capacity of caregivers to provide for the unique needs of the children in their homes, to build connections with other family care home providers and help navigate the system in which they work.

  • Family Care home providers

  • Families
  • Children and youth with permanency plans in place
  • Experiencing challenges with the caregiver-child/youth relationship

  • Must be referred by the Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD) Guardianship, Resources or Adoptions teams in Trail, Nelson & Castlegar

Increase the resiliency and capacity of caregivers to meet the child or youth’s needs, while decreasing factors that may undermine placement stability 
Eligibility
  • Families with children and youth 0-18 
  • In care, or in an out-of-care arrangement with the Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD)
Restricted Access
  • Must be referred by the Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD) Guardianship and/or Resource teams in Trail, Nelson & Castlegar

Supervised Access Services supports families to maintain contact in a healthy and safe environment.

Goals:
Reduce the risk of harm to children during mandated supervised visits and to help caregivers better understand the intentions behind their children’s behaviours.

Eligibility

  • Children and youth 0-18 and their families
  • Where supervised visits are required Arrow Lakes district

Restricted Access

  • Must be referred by the Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD) Guardianship team in Nakusp

ISSP provides an intensified level of community supervision and support to monitor compliance with youth probation order conditions

ISSP provides an intensified level of community supervision and support to monitor compliance with youth probation order conditions.

Goals:
Reduce or eliminate future criminal activity by reducing risk and increasing protective factors in the lives of referred youth.

Eligibility

  • Youth 12-18
  • Charged with a serious criminal offence
  • On a youth bail or probation order

Restricted Access

  • Must be referred by the Ministry of Children & Family Development (MCFD) Youth Probation team in Castlegar 
Adults

PSI provides individualized outreach support services for adults

PSI provides individualized outreach support services for adults.

Goals:
Increase quality of life in the areas of shared living, community inclusion, employment skills and life skills development.

Eligibility

  • Adults with significant limitations in adaptive functioning AND
  • A Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) diagnosis 
    and/or an autism spectrum disorder diagnosis 
  • OR an Intellectual Disability diagnosis 

Restricted Access

  • Must be referred by Community Living British Columbia (CLBC) in Castlegar
